25 Things to remember on your bad days

My guilty pleasure is coffee. I can't say I feel guilty about it, but if all the coffee in the world went missing, I'd probably be caught red handed. It's my go to, what can I say. I'm often telling my friends, despite how the day goes, I can always end it with coffee. It's one of the things I always remember when I'm sad. I think it's important to have a list of small things to remind you to cheer up at times. We all have our own, but here's mine.

  1. There are only 24 hours in a day.
  2. You've gotten through so much, this too shall pass and just be a memory.
  3. You can always go home, build a fort, and binge watch criminal minds.
  4. There are playlists that describe how you're feeling at this exact moment
  5. Take a coffee break and relax your mind for five minutes.
  6. You've made so many people laugh and smile when they didn't think they could.
  7. Pick up a mirror and smile at it. You are able to change your mood at any second. Of course it's going to be harder some days, but attitude is (almost) everything.
  8. Know that what you're going through, you can get over it. Maybe not in the next 5 minutes, or hour, or maybe even day. But at some point, it will all just be a memory.
  9. All of your favorite books, songs, drinks and foods still exist. There is always something to feel a little excited about.
  10. There's a kid who wants to be just like you when they grow up, maybe you were that kid. Don't forget, you are always relevant.
  11. You are not a number, a geographic location, or the amount in your bank account. You are not what school you can afford, you are the education you obtain, both in a desk and in the world. You are the people who love you, not the ones who hate you. You are the dreams you had, have and are yet to dare to dream.
  12. Failure is not a dirty word. Nothing is wrong with being in a slump, failing, falling down, or admitting you don't know anything. You will and always will be a work in progress.
  13. Another one my chemistry teacher taught me, you are not what you don't know. But you are the questions you ask. Simply put, no one knows everything, it's okay not to know something. But if you never seek the knowledge, it shows on you.
  14. Think of all the people who've seen in public who are beautiful, who seem smart, who you want to know, but were to shy to talk to. You are that person to someone.
  15. A little lesson I learned from my doctors over the years. It doesn't matter what people think about you, they're probably just jealous anyways.
  16. It's okay if no one exactly understands what you're going through. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you, despite what you (and other people) might think.
  17. The internet is full of cute animals, at least one video of a cute cat will make you laugh.
  18. If you feel alone, you're doing everything right. Absolutely right.
  19. The world is a negative place, it doesn't reflect on you. Do your best to spread some positive energy.
  20. You deserve happiness. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
  21. Remember this quote, "Your body is made of the same elements that lionesses are built from. Three quarters of you is the same kind of water that beats rocks to rubble, wears stones away. Your DNA translates into the same twenty amino acids that wolf genes code for. When you look in the mirror and feel weak, remember, the air you breathe in fuels forest fires capable of destroying everything they touch. On the days you feel ugly, remember: diamonds are only carbon. You are so much more."
  22. Your life is a story, what would a great story be with just ups?
  23. You have done so many amazing things this far in your life. You may not view them as amazing. But, someone is hoping for half of what you accomplished.
  24. It's okay to be hard on yourself, we all want to improve.
  25. There's a theory that girls where heels because it's power dressing. Use the same logic, put on fancy clothes, get all dolled up and go out in public. Nothing beats commanding a room with your presence.  You are and always will be a rockstar.
